NEW YORK, NEW YORK—Today City Council candidate Kim Moscaritolo announced the endorsement of State Senator José M. Serrano, the first major endorsement of the 2021 District 5 race.
“It’s a pleasure to endorse the candidacy of my friend Kim Moscaritolo for the City Council," said Serrano. "Over the years I’ve seen her tremendous commitment to our community, with a focus on transparency, accountability and new ideas to help move us forward. I look forward to working with her on Roosevelt Island and all the neighborhoods we share.”
"I am incredibly honored to have the Senator's endorsement," said Moscaritolo. “Senator Serrano has been a progressive champion in Albany for over 15 years. I’m proud to have worked alongside him in support of issues such as gun violence prevention, reproductive rights and campaign finance reform. Senator Serrano and I share a vision for a New York City that’s unafraid to tackle our biggest problems with bold, progressive action that centers the public good.”
Senator Serrano represents the 29th district, which includes Roosevelt Island, and parts of the Upper East Side and East Harlem. He chairs the Majority Conference and the Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks and Recreation committee in the State Senate.
